2027 Talent Development Programme

An exciting new chapter for Takapuna FC

2026 has been a year to celebrate at Takapuna FC — and the beginning of an exciting new chapter.

With our Men’s First Team earning promotion to the NRFL Premiership, we’re also delighted to have received confirmation of NZ Football TDP Full Accreditation for the 2027 season.

Together, these achievements mark an exciting step forward for Takapuna FC and create stronger opportunities for our players to develop and progress through the club.

These achievements reflect the commitment of our coaches, volunteers, players and families. Thank you to everyone who has helped move the club forward.

Be part of what comes next

Our accredited Talent Development Programme (TDP) provides players with a structured environment to continue developing their football, including:

  • Qualified coaching focused on player development

  • Regular, structured training

  • Individual feedback and development

  • Increased challenge for players who are ready for it

  • A clear pathway through junior and youth football towards U23 and senior football

  • Eligibility for the NRFL Youth competitions

We’re inviting players interested in our U13, U14, U15 and U17 teams for 2027 to take part in a six-week selection programme.

2027 TDP Selection Programme

Dates: 27 October – 3 December 2026

Sessions: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:00–7:15pm

Venue: Taharoto Park

Cost: $100 per player for all 12 sessions

Each group will have two 75-minute sessions per week.

We recommend attending as many sessions as possible. However, we understand that Term 4 brings other sporting commitments and that some players may also be trialling with other clubs.

If you cannot attend some or all of the sessions, please still register your interest and contact us. Let us know your availability and that you remain interested, and we can discuss what the opportunity could look like for you.

Meet the TDP community

The club bar will be open during the selection sessions, giving parents and caregivers an opportunity to meet other families, connect with the club and enjoy the Takapuna FC atmosphere while players are training.

TDP Information Evening

We’ll also hold a TDP Information Evening on Monday 19 October to explain our plans for 2027 and give players and families an opportunity to ask questions.

Time and venue will be confirmed shortly.
